In this brief guide, we’ll demonstrate how to open a Cryptegrity Escrow Vault and start exchanging goods, services and funds online with unrivalled safety and simplicity.

Step One: Connect to the Cryptegrity Site

First, head to cryptegrity.io on your desktop computer or from within a mobile crypto wallet app, like Metamask.

In the top right hand corner of the screen, hit ‘Connect Wallet’.

When the automatic pop ups appear within your crypto wallet extension or application, tap ‘Confirm’ again.

Step Two: Create an Escrow Transaction

Find the ‘Transactions’ tab in the header menu and click the arrow to bring up the dropdown menu.

Choose which type of Escrow transaction you’d like to create and click your selected option. In this example, we’ll be creating a ‘Goods Ecrow’ Transaction.

On a mobile device, you’ll need to hit the three lines in the top corner to open the menu.

Step Three: Set the Terms of the Escrow Transaction

On the next page, you’ll be required to provide information about the transaction, including what is expected of both parties in the agreement. In this example we’ll be the Buyer, purchasing source code and marketing assets for a new app we’re developing.

We recommend that you provide as much information as possible and establish clear expectations for both sides of the agreement. In the unlikely event that there is a dispute between parties, this agreement serves as the reference that will be evaluated by the Cryptegrity DAO.

Fill out all the required fields, and don’t forget to include Milestones and payment terms within the agreement.

Once your happy with the terms, click ‘Next’ at the bottom of the form.

Step Four: Review and Confirm your Escrow Vault

On this page, you’ll have the opportunity to review all the conditions of your proposed vault.

After reading it through and correcting any errors, input the crypto wallet address of your counterparty in the provided field. Then, check the box saying that you agree to Cryptegrity’s terms and privacy policy.

When you’re ready, click ‘Start Escrow’ to prompt the transaction in your crypto wallet. Click ‘Confirm’ in the pop up window of your crypto wallet extension or mobile app.

After a few seconds, another window will pop up asking you to set a spending cap limit for the cryptocurrency you selected earlier to use as payment.

We’d recommend clicking ‘Use Default’, which will automatically input the figure you specified in the agreement.

You’ll see other pop up, asking you to approve the spending cap you’ve just set. Click ‘Approve’.

One final pop up will appear, asking you to confirm the final transaction.

Click ‘Confirm’ one last time to create the Escrow Vault. This step will fund the vault with the your cryptocurrency you’ve selected as a payment method.

Step Five: Share the Escrow Vault with your Counterparty

Now that your escrow agreement has been created and the vault has been funded, you should see this screen in your brower or crypto wallet mobile app.

From here, you can copy the link to the vault and send it to the counterparty. You can also click ‘View Transaction’ to check the status of the agreement, including what the other party has submitted to reach certain milestones.

What Does My Counterparty See?

When your counterparty clicks the link you sent them, they’ll need to connect their crypto wallet to the Cryptegrity site. After doing so, they’ll be able to review the agreement in its entirety.

If they’re happy with the arrangement, all they need to do is check the box agreeing to terms and privacy policy and click ‘Start Escrow’.

The counterparty will be able to upload content as required to the escrow vault to await review from the buyer. If the buyer is happy with the what’s been provided, they funds locked in the vault will be released to the seller, completing the agreement and ensuring both parties get exactly what they’ve agreed upon.
